The days are growing shorter and the holiday season is in full swing! However, Kiln SLC knows that your grind doesn’t stop when you change your alarm to Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s Carol of the Bells

To make it easy for you (or the entrepreneur in your life) to have fun this December, follow Kiln SLC’s guide to the most festive work week possible in Salt Lake City.

Monday: The start of a new week and of course, a new challenge. Maybe you’ve kicked your day off with a great breakfast from Voro Café and some of our Campos drip coffee. Lucky for Kiln SLC members, we haven’t even gotten festive yet. Hop on the Jingle Bus (by the massive disco ball on street level) for a free ride to the historic Temple Square lights. Huddle up with your loved ones and prepare to be delighted by beautiful light displays.

Tuesday: Ice skate with your work family or your actual family at the Gallivan Center. Skate rental and admission is just $5 and watching the Zamboni will never actually get old.

Wednesday: You’ve made it halfway through the week! That warrants some serious #treatyourself behavior. This Wednesday, you’ve got two options to do so —

*Take your new favorite mode of public transportation, the Jingle Bus, to Hotel Monaco. Step into a brand new kind of winter wonderland at the Miracle on 2nd Street pop-up bar. One of just 90 experiences in the world, you will not want to miss the chance to indulge in a Snowball Old Fashioned while standing next to a 12 ft tall nutcracker. Seriously.

*Hop on the Trax redline to Trolley Station. Walk your way to Trolley Square and the Normal Ice Cream truck inside. Do yourself a favor, order the egg nog soft serve, then thank us later. While eating inside (and avoiding frostbite/hypothermia), browse Cabin Fever for the most eclectic gift ideas around.

Thursday: Today is the day to prepare yourself for the onslaught of weekend commitments you’ve made. Keep it simple with a short walk to Salt & Honey, Gateway’s own local holiday market. Cross everyone off of your list while shopping locally. Hot chocolate recommended, but not required.

Friday: The traditional five day work week is coming to an end, but we both know that you’re going to check your email on Saturday (and maybe even Sunday). To give yourself a little cushion, take part in The Gateway’s Winter Walk. Step right outside into the fun with a Photo Booth, live musicians performing your holiday favorites, hot cocoa, mulled wine and cider! Bonus points for picking up a mug from The Gateway and seeing all the perks it provides at our neighboring tenants.

Any member that can prove that they took us up on this challenge gets a coffee or a hot cocoa on me!
