Boulder-based startups have exciting news! This month, as part of our Startup Stoplight Series, we’ll cover a few companies that have garnered recent media attention. Cheers to their ongoing successes!

Stream: Changing the Chat Technology Game

Just a few months ago, you probably remember reading about chat startup Stream, as they closed a $15 million Series A. Now, they’ve just wrapped up a $38 million Series B financing round, led by Aydin Senkut of Felicis Ventures’ with participation from GGV Capital and 01 Advisors. Stream’s big news doesn’t end there; in 2020 they more than doubled their customer activity, reaching 1 billion end users globally.

Stream is changing the chat-based tech game by providing APIs so that teams can chat and share activity. These APIs allow companies to bypass the development of their own functionality so that they can focus on their product instead of their messaging and communication environment. Their channels have no limit on size -- some totalling 1 million users --- while opting for the most robust security features with HIPAA, SOC 2, and GDPR infrastructures. Check out their product demos here. Congrats to Stream’s Boulder HQ team!

Divirod: Revolutionizing Water Infrastructure and Analytics

Divirod is hard at work laying the foundation for future water and commodity markets. Their platform, powered by global satellite networks, acts as a giant radar system to provide complex water measurements. Their system works for reservoir management, dam safety, coastal monitoring, flood damage, and tide and wave measurements. Soon, they’ll reveal data optimizations for coastal erosion, soil moisture, snow, and vegetation monitoring conditions.

In a world marked by climate shifts, we need to be equipped to deal with changes in water sources and patterns. Born in 2019, the company has exciting early stage news: they recently completed a $1 million financing round
