Joining the Kiln community comes with perks. Here’s a big one: hosting events in Kiln’s spaces.

We’re talking about business meetings, professional development events, conferences, guest speaker series, happy hour events, company holiday parties, film screenings, product demos, and more. The sky's the limit when it comes to hosting events at Kiln.

Below we’ll cover some general information about hosting events in our shared coworking space. We’ll also include a few examples of events past for inspiration.

How to Host an Event:

In general, Kiln members can host events in our space free of charge. Occasionally, there will be small fees associated with events if they require additional staffing, are hosted after regular business hours, or require a cleaning team.

Non-Kiln members can also host events at Kiln. Fees vary depending on size, space, etc.

Each Kiln location has unique spaces for events. For example, at our Boulder, Salt Lake, and Lehi (1) locations you might take advantage of the theaters. At Kiln Park City and Lehi (2), events are frequently hosted in the atriums. Most importantly, all Kiln locations have a beautiful lobby that can be utilized for gathering, receiving, and welcoming guests as they make their way towards the main event.

The possibilities are endless -- in the last few years, we’ve worked with local caterers, distilleries, bartenders, rental furnishing companies, and party planners to bring Kiln members’ dreams to life.

Our Favorite Kiln Events:

Ever since Kiln opened its doors, we’ve been keen on hosting community events. We have our regular favorites which include Waffles Wednesdays, an Apres-Work charcuterie and wine hour, Bring your Friend to Work Day, and Fun Movie Fridays. Here are a few more favorites!

Churros4Change at Kiln Lehi

Back in our early days, Kiln hosted the Annual Churros4Change event in Lehi. The fiesta fundraiser benefited three local non-profit organizations including Fight the New Drug, Warrior Rising, and Because He First Loved Us. Live music from The Voice alum Belle Jewel, DJ Michael Wood, singer-songwriter Joseph Moore, and others made for an unforgettable time. All-you-can-eat-filled churros and tacos were a hit. For this event, outside photographers, visual artists, filmmakers, hosts, and event coordinators collaborated with Kiln.

Silicon Slopes Startup Conversations at Kiln SLC and Kiln Lehi

Each month, Kiln hosts a Silicon Slopes Startup Conversation to bring Utah’s early-stage tech community together to participate in engaging conversation. Utah’s prominent entrepreneurs and leaders frequent these monthly conversations and form community over lunch.

Past speakers include James Budge (CFO Pluralsight), Rick Hasselman (CFO Podium), Brock Blake (CEO and Founder of Lendio), Todd Pedersen (CEO and Founder of Vivint), and Dan Burton (CEO Health Catalyst).

Tangible Classes and Startup Ignition Courses

We program regular professional development classes and events. At Kiln Lehi and Salt Lake locations, members and their guests are welcome to a free “Intro to 3D Printing” course on the first Thursday of each month. After training, members have unlimited access to Kiln’s 3D printers for any project at any time!

Classes aren’t always this serious though. At Kiln Salt Lake, monthly wine tasting classes with curated drinks and horse d'oeuvres are a great way to unwind and make new friends.
